Transport Yard Supervisors
Description
Our client is looking to recruit 2 Transport Yard Supervisors on a twilight shift from 4pm.Responsible for managing the transportation for them in UK and Europe during the night shift. Proactively managing processes to ensure compliance, maintaining the financial reports and raising PO’s for the department, to support planning and be the point of contact when on shift for resolving transportation issues. To arrange any additional vehicle movements and able to tranship stock from trailer to trailer via a forklift if required. This is for a large part a lone worker role.
Key activities and responsibilities
•Ensure accurate completion of driver paperwork, accurate of vehicle and driver records.
•Enforce the collect tachographs records, and complete tachograph analysis.
•Debrief drivers on their return from routes
•Brief drivers prior to their departure
•Maintain tachograph record in conjunction with drivers’ hours ensuring infringements are dealt with according to legislation.
•Maintain servicing requirements within the department for vehicles
•Collate financial reports on a weekly basis or as and when requested.
•Arrange documentation for transportation of vehicle usage abroad (not goods)
•Ensure we operate within the law at all times
•To be available for managing projects and remain proactive in process improvement
•Induction of drivers/Agency Drivers
•To ensure all drivers are aware of the SOP the company insist drivers follow for securing of loads and the policing of that procedure.
•Ensure accidents are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Health and Safety Division
•Predominately a night shift role, although on occasions may be required to work on day shifts
•Responsible for Division fuel cards and usage, whilst on shift
•Responsible for Health & Safety documents/systems being signed off by drivers/agency drivers.(Induction Packs)
•Complete any additional vehicle movements where required
•To utilise a forklift truck as and when required, only when a member of staff is in the work area at the same time.
•Any additional duties requested by the Transport Manager
•Actively engage in continuous improvement ensuring suggestions and opportunities are highlighted to your line manager.
•Demonstrate commitment to the core values of the company.
•Take a participative role in the company’s sustainability initiative and ensure, where possible, your actions support the achievement of this initiative; reuse, recycle and replenish.
•Ensure compliance with all health and safety, corporate, client and legislative standards across the function.
Class 1 licence and FLT licence an advantage with national and international CPC. Experience within the Eventing industry would be a distinct advantage.
